A Shattered Place
You took away my voice, you took away my sound. I can't sing, there's no song in my heart, and it used to play so loud. Circles around nothing, walls around who I used to be, sheltered and locked away is the happy and unburdened me. I can't think for you, or tell you what to do, because every time I come close, you just deny the truth. How can't you see all that you've taken away; who I used to be and who I am now has changed like night and day. I'm tired of being restrained, held back and kept in the dark. You've done enough damage now, you've left a deep enough mark. I'll accept that nothing is perfect, that to me has been made clear, but I'm not sure how long I can last in a place as shattered as here.
