A Modern Odyssey
The sand surrounding became cold like the night sky around him. Walking out of the building that kept him safe, he found himself alone. Men around him dead. He thought of the children slaughtered. The innocent men dead. But this was not his fault. He thought, this was their fault. This was brought upon by the very men who ruled this nation.
His thoughts then became cold. Cold like the night sky around him. He walked for fifteen days. Fifteen nights. His only food; already rotten. His only water; already dry. Yet he continued to walk. He knew what he was searching for. A love. A home. A blanket. A hug. A kiss.
A love.
His tears became cold. Cold like the night sky around him. As he continued to walk, a rock caught his foot. He stumbled, fell. He fell into the very pits of hell, where his thoughts reign. Into the devils lair. Into Satan's face himself.
His body became cold.
Cold like the night sky around him.
