Under Pressure

Author: kaelie_rianne

The knife he had pointed at me was longer than my forearm, and that freaked me out. I don't know about you, but when someone has a knife aimed in the general direction of your stomach, you are only thinking about protecting the organs inside you. Or getting out of the situation.

I was thinking of both.

"Now give me one good reason not to skewer you right now, Dark," he growled, baring his yellow teeth.

All I have to say is, it's really hard to come up with witty repartee when your looking at the end of your life down the edge of a blade. Otherwise, I could have exercised my razorsharp wit and stunned him.

"I guess that is good enough for me," he snarled, bringing the knife back.

Holy crap, what am I going to do know?

And then he dropped dead, and I didn't have to worry about anything. On the verge of unconsciousness from pure fear, I saw Jared looking at me with raised eyebrows.

"You always get yourself into the worst situations, Julie."

And that statement was too true for my liking.
