Morning found me drunk with sleep, head spinning with exhaustion It crept beneath my eyelids, peering in with little caution And pushing them awake divorced my eyes from furtive dreams To witness neither morning nor its sun-enchanted beams A murky cave of hollow cool and dark surrounds instead And from my paws I perk my ears to lift my weary head Elusive light both weak and grey intrudes into this den With heaving sigh I curl my tail, fall back asleep again
