On The Now pt 12

Author: L. L. Burrows

More grass. I'm moving through the woods as temperate rain pours down. The day is drenched as am I. I move and move through the woods until I come to a lake. Overflowing from the rain, the lake is clearly not impressed by my might. The rain is pouring, but still and parallel. No wind surges, meaning the lake is almost as safe as any other day. I dip a foot in, and dive. Through the fresh waters, I breaststroke for fifteen feet and pull myself forward, skimming the top. Nothing is impossible for a millisecond. My neck feels the cool surface of oxygen as I emerge, head peaking up from the aquatic nap I had just taken. I wade out a solid distance, shivering, yet in control. My limbs are paddling in a way I've never known. My young body is awake.
