Noir: Mr. D.'s Neighborhood (Part 2)

Author: Drake West

DiSibio continued to speak. "Vincenzo, you do not have this ability, _outside this club_, but inside, you are wonderful. I will now take over this problem you have. It suits my interest since I am an investor."

_My last rites._

A waiter arrived with a long corded telephone in hand. The Topaz had all the accouterments, including a phone for the VIP section. "Mr. DiSibio, a phone call for you, sir." Alberto nodded and the waiter placed the phone down at his side. DiSibio picked up the shiny black receiver.

"Ok," he started with a low voice, "stay there and get back to me before midnight. If he moves, you move."

He hung up and spoke to Goon #2. "Benny, call the boys and get a car down to the bus station, seems Maryanne Stone took a bus somewhere." Benny picked up the phone and dialed.

_Well that's the end of that._

I was now a spectator in my own life. I could feel my sovereignty slipping away by the second. DiSibio just unfolded his umbrella over my whole life in 2 phone calls.
