Waiting
A chain of pains, lashing out all across your body in a horizontal way,
Making me cry 'cause there was nothing I could do. I can hear you.
Helplessness at it's finest. I cannot control others, even with my special manipulator tools and my twisty words. I know.
So wading in the leftovers, my feet seep into the darker tar. So I'll just wait outside and smoke. I'll just wait for you.
I guess I can only imagine the invisible shards making their way through your body. Or your soul, stretched out like a big warm blanket... Holes just appearing through the fleece of your heart and head.
I'd like to wrap you around me and find a dry place to sleep. I don't need a pillow, you're all the comfort I need.
In sleep, I'd dream of you, too. And how you used to be. That's how I'll remember you, if you never come out alive.
I wish that if it was time for you to go, you'd find a way to say goodbye.
I can feel you move through me, so that feeling is gone, that can be the way we say goodbye.
I'll meet you in a star.
