3. The Origins of the Genders

*Mars* is said to be where men come from; Venus, where women come from. I don't know where the others are supposed to come from. People refer to men and women all the time, but nobody will say where I was born or why. Nobody can hear me. Nobody sees me. I wish to call to others, but nobody will pick up the receiver. Nobody can see me waving. I don't think I have arms to wave. I have secretly always believed that both men and women come from the same place, and I'm from elsewhere, but now we're all stranded on this friendless sphere, *Earth*.
