Remembering

I sat gracefuly on the seat next to him. I crossed my legs and flipped my hair over one should to turn and look at him. I almost giggled when I saw he was gawking at me. A small smile rushed briefly across my lips and vanished. I turned away from him, unable to be the fun and flirty girl I used to be. Tears sprang to my eyes.

_It was spring of last school year, not even 6 months ago. I was in my kitchen after a date with my boyfriend, eating an apple at the table and thinking of the fun we had. It was quiet, so I didn't think anyone was home._

_From no where she appeared. She was as silent as a ghost. There was a look in her eyes as she stared at me. She laughed hysterically; the first thing to cause my nightmares._

_The next thing I remember, I was on my kitchen floor and I tasted blood._

I shuddered as I refocused on the present. Nathaniel was still staring at me, but now there was concern all over his face.

"You okay?" He asked as he gently reached out and wiped a tear I hadn't noticed off my cheek.
