Thoughts Waiting For A Train
We felt our own personal earthquake as the train, incoming from suburbia, sped on in to the station, all hiss and steam, still managing to chug along after a hard day's work. The ground quaked beneath our planted feet, and I grew worried that it would crumble right under us, and we would fall into the gap we were told to mind carefully, the workers silently praying we fall inside to our own demise. You cradled me in your arms, smoothing my hair and promising for the end of days, but together, we could be together, together in death at least. And the train came to a halt, all hiss and steam, and opened its mighty mouth and swallowed us up.
