Faulty Memory
It was the month When we both had suffered losses And we both covered up the fact That we were blaming ourselves By blaming each other For our personal problems And we both forgot the time I tried to bake you a cake But you weren't a fan of strawberry But you took the entire thing home And praised my presentation And we both forgot the time That you snuck up behind me And I nearly decked you Before I recognized your voice And neither of us wanted to hold on Because the easiest thing to do In times of loss and desperation Is to let go
