In Between Minds: Into the Beyond
The net slipped away, each loss sharp and painful. Below me _She_ howled _Her_ abandonment, terror and rage tearing chunks of my consciousness apart in an effort to drag me back to a reality I did not want to face.
Soon all I could hear was the maelstrom of _Her_, my own voice diminished to a whisper. The net glittered tantalizingly out of reach and I wondered if I could find my way back.
Did I even want to? Part of me wasn't sure...
But did I want to be alone? Cut off from my body and the net of consciousness I had discovered?
I did not, so I searched in the direction of the screaming and found that I had drifted far enough away I heard only an echo. And I was still drifting...
Thin, thinner...thinnest, my idea of self stretched until it snapped and...
Fragments of a consciousness shattered past sentience drift in the outlying reaches of a space Jung might have called the Collective Unconsciousness.
Into this vast silence came a tiny voice, a pair of pale blue eyes, _Where did you go?_
