floating

Author: punpun

Floating I drift alone watching them revel in my absence

I float freely for nothing keeps me chained down to this Earth, down to their judging eyes and spurious smiles and pop-culture patterns and cliche conversation topics and their stone cold facades, musing to myself

'That I've already been floating alone forever.'

That all the skies I've drifted past like flotsam from shipwrecks and all the birds I've called family sometimes and all the suns that came up and down and up and down have all left me behind

I'm waking up.
