The Phone, Four

Author: Thoth

The sudden howl of fright and agony jumped Mark badly. Turning his head to the source, he watched in horror as a man in a business suit scrambled madly about, engulfed in flame. The inferno was almost blinding for everyone in the vicinity, and Mark could feel the heat scorching his face as he stared at the surreal event unfolding before him. The screams were deafening. Nobody wasted any time in their evacuation, but Mark found himself rooted to the spot.

The man in the business suit was openly weeping by now, begging for someone, _anyone_, to stop it. He was kneeling on the road, crying out the names of his family, when the blare of a horn heralded the approach of an oncoming car.
