The Basement

You enter the basement over a small staircase you did not saw before. It is colder than in the rest of the house. Like a wave of sound you hear the clicking and stomping of hundreds of machines that worked already one thousand years ago. The staircase ends on a big copper bridge that hovers over a sea of gears and metal pieces. The sound, that is now so loud nobody would hear you speak is like a magic music not from this world. You are pulled in it, every thought wiped away and... wait, stop! But it's to late! You tumble one step forward, nothing is under your feet and... You fall down.
