Incensed by Innocence
Your fresh and unnassuming face peers lovingly toward my grave visage, blissfully ignorant, unaware of the grievous pain you have caused. While I slept, your busy little hands took hold of my dreams, held them tight -- each hope struggling to stay alive -- you drowned them in the inky night. Yet here you lie with your loving eyes begging for tenderness and care. Should your ignorance of your foul deeds give cause enough, the rod to spare? I cannot know, nor can I assume. Simplicity begs innocence. I'm forced to greet your destructive whims with constant love and tolerance.
