Verisimilitude

∞ “So what have you been up to?” She sipped her coffee and smiled at me. She looked quite different.

“I enrolled in a neurobiofeedback program to take control of my existence.” I responded.

“There’s no way something like that exists.” She scoffed, then “Cripes.”

“Existence is only experience, Rachel.” I attested.

I wanted my coffee sweeter; I concentrated on the desired amount of sugar I wanted to experience on my tongue. The next sip was perfect. “I have become quite adept at controlling my experiences, that is to say, my existence.”

She looked dubious.

“Ok. See that lady across the street? There, in the purple hat? She will stoop down to pick up a quarter right…....now.”

The lady continued walking.
