& There We Were, & All We Were
You, the alcoholic, and I, the new smoker will grow entangled together.
We will feed off of each other’s mindless addictions.
I will need you for your midnight slurs, your midday affection, and your mundane morning routines of a glass of water and an asprin.
You will need me for the lack of air fresheners (our breath will never smell as sweet as it did when we first met), my evening outbursts of emotional outrage, and my sober sense of humor, along with my help in cleaning up you forgotten memories.
