Resolution

Another round of drinks? Another night, methinks. An appointment I have dreaded, is headed my direction.

One night's indiscretion, a heart full of apprehension. Reckoning awaiting. Fate won't be denied.

Warmth, bright eyes and smiles, greet cold and selfish lies. The resolve to drop the shroud, shrinks at the moment of truth.

A king amongst his ruins, chooses an illusion. Inside a house of cards, the perfect home for a coward.
