Empty Space (Superhero Black Hole, part 113)
Remember how I found out about my ability for the first time?
Totting up the particular _Friends_ episode? Noticing my usually scarfaced dad was now un-scarfaced? Realising that I'd jumped back in time, and then had returned to my present? (_God, things were so simple back then_.)
Well, I only found out those facts around the time this story ends, when my real memories were re-implanted into my brain.
The truth is that I had had no memory of ever having a dad, or a mom, or friends at college, or anything like that during my time spent wandering through the centuries.
I never questioned it. It was just like this vast, empty gap in my head. I never examined it, or attempted to fill it with false memories. I left it as it was.
And then Al confronted me with this revelation (to me _and_ Zoe), and...well, that gap suddenly became extremely conspicuous.
I asked myself things like: Where _did_ I grow up? Did I play with other kids? I _was_ at college, but didn't I know some people?
I was freaking out hugely.
