The End part 1

Luke sat down amongst the newly dead and leaned back against the crumbling stone wall, its bullet scars a testament to the recent battle. Bits of grimy plaster rained down on him as he looked up at the puffy white clouds that swam slowly across the bright blue sky.

He took his eyes from the peaceful sky and looked once more at the carnage that surrounded him. He tried to put a number on the bodies tangled around him, but found that he preferred the sight of the clouds rather than the dead and lifted his eyes once more.
