Fault

It wasn't my fault.

Okay, not _totally_ my fault.

I mean, yeah, _maybe_ I shouldn't have been walking along the highway. But baseball practice ran late, and it was the shortest way home.

And, okay, _maybe_ I should have been paying more (or even some) attention to traffic rather than tossing my ball and catching it. But next to _no one_ drives that road at this time of day.

And I admit that _maybe_ I shouldn't have ran after my ball after I missed a toss and it rolled into the lane. But the guy in the Mazda was paying attention and hit the brakes in time. He stopped about a foot away from me.

Too bad for both of us the guy in the logging truck wasn't paying as much attention to the road.
