HUNTER: Gaining Entry

Author: J. A. Keane

Hunter knocked on the door to Kramer's mansion 5 times, then stopped and waited for a response.

As was usual for him, he began to eye up the mansion and its environs, so he could apply himself to the surroundings.

The mansion: a red brick structure with ornate windows, large oak doors and the odd patch of moss covering the brickwork.

The estate: a gravel pathway, some parking spaces in front of the mansion, and (as per usual for these kinds of places) trees, trees, and more bloody trees.

He shook his head, muttered something under his breath, and removed from his jacket pocket his one constant companion:

Tic Tacs. Peppermint.

He opened the top of the small platic container, tipped four of the capsule-shaped mints into his palm and tipped them into his mouth.

He had had a feeling, long before he took this job, that this assignment would require a _lot_ of Tic Tacs.

Suddenly, the front door opened up to a scrawny little man, whom Hunter just _knew_ had to be the damn butler.

"Welcome, Mr. Thompson..."
