In The Heat of The Moment: Part 2

Author: Francis James

Garret flicked off his flashlight and placed it next to his badge on the passenger side seat. he then flipped a box of smokes open and placed it loosely on his lips; he inhaled deeply then lit the smoke up. The smoke swirled in a circle before disappearing into the night.

He opened the door of his car and stepped down into a puddle. Garret made his way over to the man on the bench, he flipped open the flap inside his jacket allowing him to grab his gun. “Sir I asked you if I can ask you some questions about tonight’s events.” The man sat there on the bench ignoring Garrets request.

Garret approached closer to see the man holding onto a small size doll, stroking the hair and whispering to himself.

The man then noticed Garret approaching him from the trees, “They knew too much, we have a chance of changing the world for a better tomorrow.” The man spoke towards Garret. “Who are they?” Garret asked.

Garret noticed his hands were covered in blood.
